Time heals all wounds.
It's one month later. The circling clouds of doom have not ceased, in fact, they are quickening.
Kyra has spent a month in a rushed training program. Every day has been work and worry, but it's the luxury of a fancy condo and an account with too many zeroes in it. Leepina has adjusted to her new prosthetic leg but is still in rehabilitation, stopping by to thank Kyra for what she's done. Flidais has a wonderful patch of soil out back behind the condo that has kept her busy. Kyra now understands how to use her special powers, and has travelled into and out of parts of the Shadowside repeatedly with two highly skilled Veteran agents. Accellatrix is her employer but they've given a very slacked leash. Dennis is watching over her personally, her guardian angel at this time.
Sam has spent the last month as a distinguished guest of the Dark Lord. While he hasn't seen the figure himself, he's grown acquainted with a familiar face in the Dark Lord's current speaker, Mose. As well, Sam is now familiar with his own bonded companion, the silent and mysterious Japanese man known as Ai no ookami (愛 の オオカミ) or "Wolf of Love", who swallowed him as an elephant sized wolf and then spit him out here in his luxurious suite in a tower high in the sky overlooking the lay of the land. Utropolis is a dot in the distance he can see. Below him is a three thousand foot drop outside the tower.
Vince has spent his time well. Taking over a desk job General's life, he has anything he wants or needs. His pain fairy has been really silent, sticking close to him and using most of his energy to fight off the Shadowside's draw. The city rebuilds it's defenses quickly and resumes business. Yet he can see the corruption creeping in. It started when the suicide rate skyrocketed two weeks after the gate closed. While the deaths fell, the sinking paranoia is setting in. Even he can feel it. Hallucinations are now a regular part of life around here. Some doors and hallways randomly appear or disappear. Gravity doesn't follow logical rules in every part of the city. The reality they had with them from the gate is slipping. Soon, this place will consume their sense of reality. Many of the spirits employed in the city have simply vanished, some others have gone crazy and have to be commited to a mental facility. Even the living made of flesh and bone are slowly getting effected. Production has dropped significantly. Rumors and whispers will the hallways: if they don't escape to Earth they will no longer have any sense of where their minds end and where this world begins.
Xander has reached his peak. There's an inevitable burn out with luxury. He feels like he's gone through every single kid personality from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He's smoked himself stupid. He's had enough sex to make his body sore. He's eaten every food he likes. He's watched all the movies and played all the video games he remembers. It's just too delicious, too sweet. Now he wants peace and quiet, but the pleasureland won't shut off and is never silent. Dill and Lynn have been the only ones keeping him sane. All the ghost hunters have vanished, except David who has become very paranoid and depressed. Then they found the tunnel. At the north valley of this weed paradise is a tunnel in a mountain, and through the other side Xander can see a distant dot he recognizes as Utropolis.
While the normal world has continued on it's boring existence safe from all of this, inside the Shadowside something is stirring. The dark clouds to the East have grown and now loom over Utropolis. Destiny is calling, and a convergence is at hand.
(All players are suggested to distribute 11 experience points as they see fit. This covers the journey from the bunker to the small town, and through the Shadowside to this point. A month changes people. Each person should post their own long overview of what they've done over the month of absence. Feel free to contact me directly about any new Paranormal skills you want.)
