Bernardo de Altamonte y Calleja was born in Madrid, and made himself a name among archaeological circles by predicting, and then being right about his predictions regarding a trove of Moorish artifacts discovered near Toledo.
He has a distinguished position in the University of Barcelona, where he is generally beloved by his students.
Through an International Academic Exchange Program he has recently arrived to Cal State University East Bay, in Hayward California. He is new to the country, new to the US educational system, but willing to do a good job. One thing he has going for him, is that he's truly a scholar -a walking encyclopedia of historical facts, fluent in various languages -including a few dead ones.
